Premium Uncleaned Coins from the Balkans

This new lot of coins is fantastic. These coins are NOT Junk, trust me.

FYI - I was too lazy to count out these special coins and Sheri did it for me in the back yard...getting a sun tan.  :-) Sheri can be counted to not 'cherry-pick' any of them and she counted them into bags of 100 each, and that is important for bulk buyers.

In the past, we have referred to these as ‘beginner coins’ or ‘excellent for honing your cleaning skills' or ‘practice coins.’ These are not.

As seen in the photo, each of these LRBC issues are simply covered with soft dirt that will respond best with DW soaks and mechanical cleaning with dental picks, common scalpels, and tooth brushing, etc.

These ‘Balkan Coins’ are just the same as our True Premium issues, but just a bit smaller. Æ 3, Æ 3/4s and Æ4s that didn't quite meet the size.

Our opinion is that, properly cleaned and restored, nearly all these coins will clean up to VF or better condition, with a green patina and easily attributed via RIC.

Remember, you're buying at a 'per coin' price.

Our bulk price of 100 coins for only $150 is crazy. Our price of 500 coins for $1.30 each is nuts.

Happy Hunting? For sure! Don't forget to add flips and pages to your order...you'll need them, trust me.

I would highly recommend these coins to anyone. I got 2 radiates mixed in and even a Hannibalianus coin!..

Of the ten uncleaned Roman coins from the Balkans were nine late empire coins of commonly found emperors and issues--Constantine, Constans, Probus, and Valens. As has been typical of my purchases from NRC, all of the coins cleaned up in VF condition, some with lovely patinas. With the nine was a large rather crusty coin that held a fine surprise--a Hadrian with Concord (I believe) on the reverse. Believing the coin to be silver, I cleaned too zealously and took off patina in two places. I could kick myself, but I'm very pleased with this find: A copper Hadrian in Good condition. Whether this coin found its way into the hoard by some strange circumstance, or by the hand of Kevin Sandes who wanted to add something special to the order--I am quite happy with this the most exciting reveal of an uncleaned coin in my several hunts...

I got in on the second and third batches of these. Both contained some very nice coins, but there seemed to be some variation between the two. My first lot contained larger coins, including an As of Hadrian, while the second contained more typical AE3 sized pieces. Either way, these are the best buy for uncleaned coins right now. I will certainly order more (or try, at least) when they become available...

100% as described. Nicer grades with nicer patinas. I was able to get details with two 24 hour soaks, light scrubbing with a nylon brush, and light picking. My first run of 25 was so good, that I ordered another 50. Tons of fun on these...
