Leaping Lion Silvered Vessal Adornment c. 2nd Cent AD
Copper alloy; 24mm/9.86gm, silvered, cleaned and waxed. Original solding is seen on the reverse.
Con/ As cast with 90%+ silvering intact. This is a very difficult item to photo and is much better appreciated in hand.
A very rare/close to unique artifact, this charming leaping lion would have adorned a silver wine cup or similar serving vessel in the home of a well-to-do family in a Roman township in provincial Dalmatia.
