Celtic Torc Fragment, Large One, c. 3rd-Cent BC-1st Cent AD

Ave!

Celtic Torc Fragment, Large One, c. 3rd-Cent BC-1st Cent AD

Copper alloy; 79mm/36.6gm

Con/ soft dirt over sound green patina.

Such torcs were worn by Celtic warriors around wrists, arms and neck, and they came in a variety of shapes from smooth to gnarly-macho. Many of these may date as far back as the Late Bronze Age.

A nice representative of this 'macho'-type torc. Excellent for research or simply collecting.

FYI - Properly cleaned and waxed this Celtic torc will be beautiful!
