Ave!

Colonia Viminacium, Moesia Superior, Gordian III, as Caesar

Æ; 20mm/5.4gm

Obv/IMP CAES MANT GORDIANVS AVG; laur., draped & cuirassed bust right

Rev/ PMS COL VIM; Moesia standing left, arms outstretched over bull on left facing right and a lion on right facing left; ANII in ex. = 239 AD

Con/ chVF; glossy green, mirror-like, patina, well-centered with sharp strikes on both sides and cannot be improved in any manner.

Ref/ AMNG I, 84; Varbonov 119

Seller's Note/ Gordian III 'as Caesar' are quite rather scarce and hard to find in this lovely condition, trust me, especially with such a perfect and untouched patina.

Not sure why, perhaps due to the alloy (?), but Viminacium issues tend to accrue spectacular green patinas.
