Zoomorphic Bird Brooch, Roman Era, 1st-2nd Cent AD

Copper alloy; 29mm/4.4gm

Charming example of a bird in flight. Original enameling on the wings is missing. Four circle-and-dot patterns to ward off the "Evil Eye" between.

Perfect for any Roman collector.

Seller's Note/ Such brooches were certainly wrought by artisans in the Roman Provinces of Dalmatia or Pannonia and all have a Celtic motif. Ground found in Croatia.
